It was a great experience playing for Bill Parcells, one of the greatest coaches of all time. To be in that system for three years, I'll take stuff with me forever from that. I'm definitely proud and glad I got to play for the Cowboys.
I didn't see it as clearly as my assistant coach did, but he's got very good judgment, and when he was arguing about it, I knew we had something there. But (the umpires) said they didn't see it, so that's the way it goes.
He's been the same old coach to us. He's not changing anything up. He's not acting bizarre. He's not acting different.
We've been focusing on the offensive side. Coach (Chris) Wyrick has been doing a good job with those hitters, and it paid off for us (Tuesday).
The coaching staff seems great. They're fired up. They have direction. They look like they want discipline here. For somebody like me that comes from Bill Parcells, I can handle anything.
I know they want to get Jones the ball. We want to be able to run him. We want to be able to do things off of that. This is not by any means Pollard getting phased out or anything like that. I don't see that. You'll see both of us in the game quite a bit is what I think.
Everybody on the team is awesome. All the guys are helping me. I'm in a whole different world now, ... We'll eat together, play cards together. We do a lot of stuff as a team.
The bats came alive, which is good to see going into Warrensburg this weekend. ... Our lineup's getting set -- I'm getting pretty set on who I want where.
That guy has made some big plays for us in the last five, six games. You look at the catches he's made. He's got arguably the best hands on this team. He's a very good athlete, and losing him, yeah it's gonna hurt.
It was a frustrating day because we had so much on the line and really didn't come out and give our best effort. That's the worst part. You want to go out there and play your best football and we really didn't come close to that. I thought our defense kept us in the game, but we didn't help them out very much.
Once Julius gets back, we'll be even better. Now we know we have a guy we can count on to give Julius a rest. It will be real good.
I had no idea that it was open yet.
I'm watching. I got to know. It's not going to affect my approach, but I want to know if I've got a shot.
I wanted to see how we'd react defensively and we've got to get back on the practice field and do some more work.
