We always tell the girls to play like it's 0-0, and we kept scoring and scoring which is good to see because you don't want to let up. I'm real proud of the girls. That was one of the best games we've played in a long time.
We knew we had our backs against the wall. As far as the four games we had left, we knew we had to go out and win them all. This game gives us a lot of momentum. We need that going into the Washington game.
We had chances and didn't put it in play, and I thought we had missed out. But the girls kept hitting it and putting it in play.
We hit the ball well (Tuesday), which is good to see. We had a lot of girls take some good swings, and it was up and down the line-up.
I think the guys know how important it is, but we do have a lot of young guys and I wanted them to know, 'Let's go,'
I think you've got to feel that way. But we got one stolen from us earlier this year. So we got one back.
I think we get flat-footed out there sometimes because teams don't put the ball in play very much against Lauren.
Lauren had another good night for us. She's tough, and if you can just get her a couple of runs, we have a good chance of winning the games.
He's been the same old coach to us. He's not changing anything up. He's not acting bizarre. He's not acting different.
We made some plays (in the final two innings) and there were a few others that we should have made, but overall, we made the ones we needed to.
I won't swim now, but if the weather clears up, I'll use it.
He was great because he went out and practiced and he worked his butt off and he'd go to the game and make plays. Anytime we needed a big play he was there.
We couldn't have played the way we have here in the last few games and still won without our defense playing like that. They're really shutting it down over there. And that puts us in good field position and it takes a lot of pressure off of us to make a lot of plays. Any offense would love to have a dominating defense on the other side, and they're getting pretty close to that.
Most of our current membership is Caucasian residents of affluent areas and we feel we're under-represented in other areas. With the growth in Jasper County it's a logical extension.
