I'm ready to be good again. I'm ready to throw a lot of innings. That's what starters have to do.
I just want to pitch a good game, ... I don't care who it is against or when it is. I just want to pitch and contribute. That'll be a challenge.
I just want to pitch a good game,
I left some balls in the middle of the plate again, in situations that you can't, ... I let them feel like they were in that game the whole way and not shutting the door is not something I'm accustomed to.
I hung four splits in the first two innings, and every one of them ended up with green paint on it,
I'm just kind of settling back into what I did before, ... Having not started a game in what, four months, you don't forget how to do it, but there are little things that go with the day and the game that you try to settle yourself back into and get comfortable with.
I'm not thinking about the things that I was thinking about last year.
I?m not trying to hit people, but last year, getting kicked around as much as I did, I got tired of it. Hitters were very comfortable facing me last year, much more than in years past.
I'm not trying to hit people, but at the same time hitters were very comfortable facing me last year, much more so last year than any year in the past. But there's something you can do about that as a pitcher and you've got to be proactive and do it.
I'm not trying to hit anybody in the head. Jim Tracy and those guys know that's not how I play the game.
I'm not trying to hit anybody in the head. I'm just trying to either get him out of the box or get him uncomfortable, and to do that you have to continue to pitch in.
I'm obviously lobbying for him to be a starter because I believe someone who can pitch 200 innings is going to help us more than pitching 60. I talked to Theo about it and he rolled his eyes like he usually does.
I'll be here in the morning to get work in. If he shows up, awesome.
I've helped create over 400 jobs in the worst economy of my lifetime. That's cool.
