beginning foul four shoot stop three
When you don't have to shoot anything from more than three or four feet, you better win. We couldn't stop them from the beginning and when we got in foul trouble, it was worse.
against bench bit control difference experience guard size style whoever
From a size standpoint, they're probably a little bit bigger. I don't think they have the depth, or experience at guard that T-Town was able to put up against us. The big thing is difference in style of play. They like to play slow, and they don't like to go to their bench at all. It comes down to whoever can control the tempo.
against game hand kids mediocre needed physical poorly prepared
I couldn't have scripted the (T-Town) game any better to get us prepared for the game (tonight). The kids needed to see first hand how poorly they could play in the postseason. If we don't go out and play to our strengths, against big physical teams, were mediocre at best.
oh reality
Oh yeah. We got back to reality real quick.
against averaged class consistency game games per percent points ranked teams
She actually averaged two points per game more against Class AA teams than Class A teams, and 45 percent of our games are against ranked teams. Her consistency is what's unbelievable to me.
against close fortunate spells
We were timid, tentative. And against T-Town, that spells trouble. We were actually pretty fortunate that we were as close as we were.
beat changed people tempo turn
We beat people because we turn them over. It changed the tempo of the game.
create cutting gets lifting local looking loose missed next practice scoring
There's a lot of things she does in practice that I don't know if she's completely comfortable cutting loose in games. She hasn't missed a day lifting (at the local gym), and if she gets stronger, she'll create even more scoring opportunities for herself. I'm looking for her to cut loose next year, and that could be scary.
ball close free kids realized seemed throws whenever
That's when we seemed to get focused, whenever that happens. Our kids have been in some tough, close games, and we realized if we get the ball in the right people's hands, we're going to make free throws down the stretch, and that's what we did.
coach coaches games good handling job played
There were only one or two games where a coach didn't show up, and those were games I told them not to come to. I thought she did a real good job of handling it, because most of the games where there were a lot of coaches there, she played really well.
defend defense fast foul full game gets girls good guards hands instead job needed preparing responsibility trying
We try to get fast with our hands instead of fast with our feet, and that gets us in foul trouble. Then we're trying to defend them with all guards out there, it just wasn't going to work. I take full responsibility for this loss. I did not do a good job of preparing the girls for this game and the defense that we needed to run.
chanting helped huge keeping loud sudden
That's a huge factor. All of a sudden they are loud and chanting and I think that helped a lot with keeping T-Town uncomfortable.
