character control group ready special team
Our team is going to be ready to play. You are going to be amazed. It is a special group with character and pride. We are going to control what we can control.
amount biggest challenge hard parents players worked year
I think the biggest challenge we had this year was getting players to come down and take a look. We had the most amount of parents we ever had come with them, and that was very encouraging. We worked very hard to get that done.
guys work
Joe, we could have put him in (Monday). We've got other guys who need more work than he does.
knows opener season slow taking treating
He is still day-to-day. We're really taking it slow with him. He's a fifth-year senior. We're treating him like a veteran. He knows what he can do and what he can't do. He's going to play (in the season opener Sept. 4).
everybody felt future great heart playing quit sad
He left. He quit because he felt he was playing for everybody else. His heart wasn't in it. That's sad because we felt he had a great future here.
believe experience grow lose talent torn
He has torn ligaments in there. At receiver, I feel like we're going to lose a lot of experience, but I really believe we have the talent there. We just have to grow up faster.
guarantee lost matters parking
What matters is we're playing. We'll play in the parking lot at Popeye's. I guarantee you I'll play in the parking lot at Wal-Mart if that's where they tell us to play. That's all we have is football. We've lost everything else.
chance continue help hope turn
I just hope they (the Mustangs) are still sympathetic to us. I hope they continue to help us out and turn it over a lot and give us a chance to win.
football mental
It's not about football with these kids, it's about mental health.
football lost
That's all we have right now, is football. We lost everything else.
ahead expect key last second several third time veterans
As a coach, you're never where you want to be, but we are way ahead of where we were at this time last year. We have several veterans in key positions, and for some of them, this is their second or third go-round with camp. They know what to expect and they've reacted accordingly.
best couple last number
They've had our number the last couple years. Their quarterback is one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
belong business disaster history low lower natural people stoop tolerate united worst
In the worst natural disaster in the history of the United States, you've got to stoop pretty low to do that. You're lower than dirt. I'm not going to tolerate that. There's people in our business that don't belong in our business.
loss winning reality
Wins and losses right now are important, but in reality it's the least of my concerns. My concern is to make sure than we give hope to anyone watching us. I am not going to judge this season on wins and losses.
