Charles Woodsonis a former American football cornerback and safety. He played college football for Michigan, where he led the Wolverines to a national championship in 1997. Woodson, a "two-way player" who played both offense and defense, won the Heisman Trophy in the same year, becoming the second, behind Leon Hart of Notre Dameto win the award. We've been getting hammered a little bit. It's almost like we're not going to contribute to whatever happens this season. Guys are going to step up to the challenge this year, take it upon ourselves as a defensive unit to go out there and get it done. You'll see a big change in us this season.

Any time you are 1-4 it's a challenge to keep everybody into it. It is going to come down to the individual and you hope you don't lose guys one by one.

The sad part of it is that we had a great week of practice. There was no reason for it to go down the way it did today.

We were in disarray at times, and there was no reason for us to be that way. They didn't give us anything we hadn't seen on film. That is disappointing.

It's not too much pressure. That's what we drafted him for. You throw him in early, and you hope that midway through the season, he's playing like he's been there before.

That's one of the breakdowns that I am talking about. We went over all that stuff this week. Everybody understood what we had to do. ... Nobody picked him up. That's on us as a defense.

Everybody wants to be a hero, so to speak. But it takes everybody. Those four downs, it was somebody different on those four plays. It was a team effort.

It's too many mistakes. We found a way to win today. But those games where we can put teams away and not let 'em back in the game, we've got to do it.

It's away from us right now. We've got to find a way to track it down. Run it down and get it back in our grasp ? 1-4 is not a very pretty record.
