We can't make excuses. People just need to step up and play their role. Injuries aren't a factor. We were prepared this week and we just didn't come out and execute.
I'm just trying to take charge of the offense. Last year, I was thrown in there as a freshman. You're a freshman and, of course, they look up to you as a quarterback. Verbally, there wasn't much out there. It was pretty much by example and physical attributes. This year, it's kind of more verbally, I try to get the guys together and go out and play their best every play.
It's mostly in the spread periods for the defense and trying to give the defense a look for the spread teams that come up (this season).
(The interception) was just a poor decision, ... It's terrifying. You never want that to happen. I just didn't take care of the ball down there.
It was actually pretty easy. I really enjoyed the recruiting process, and it's something you can never expect. I just tried to remain calm throughout the whole process. I am glad to get it done before the craziness really starts.
We just get what we deserve. We didn't have as great a season this year as last year, but we're just happy to be in a bowl.
What my high school coach and I were saying is we can go back home with our heads up high now,
You have to give them credit. They did what they wanted to do.
Coming off that loss, everybody expected that we would be down. We sparked everybody's eyes with the way we rebounded.
Sometimes he gets a little worked up and I try to calm him down and tell him to go out there and make plays.
I go to the spot I'm supposed to be and turn around,'' he said.
Mike's back and he's healthy. We're looking forward to him having a great game.
Now we need to put together two wins and come out with great emotion every time.
Nobody wants to have five losses. It's been a while since we actually did have five losses, and we don't want to be the team that had five losses. We're going to try our hardest not to be that team.
