I don't have any plans. I don't create the plans; my wife does. Put me in front of a dog and I'll make sure the dog has a plan for his life. But with my life, I think my wife is much better at that than me.
I know why God gave her to me. We complement each other.
I made that declaration and I didn't question it. It was clear to me what I wanted to be. My dad said there was no money in that, but that's what I wanted to do ... Thank God my mom said I could be whatever I wanted. I listened to her because that made sense.
I'm focused. I learned from my father not to hesitate.
At the age of 13, I wanted to be the best dog trainer in the world. That was my wish.
The most important thing that we have to provide every day is that we are the pack leader, that we set the rules, the boundaries and the limitations, and then we love. Most of the people, they go to get a dog because they need somebody to love. So they are going after what they need, not what the dog needs. And that, to me, creates instability immediately, and the dog sees the human as a soft energy. So they don't follow the lovable leader or a spiritual leader; they follow a dominant one.
I wished to have a TV show a series, not a special to change the way people behave with their dogs. I saw the need and wanted to fulfill the need. See what happens? Are you with me? The universe is always there for you.
My dad still doesn't understand why people are paying me to walk their dogs. America is a very positive country. Here, you can be whatever you want. It's awesome. A guy can cross the border 14 years ago and now have his own TV show. Only in America.
They're on a mission to make a dog human. This is something that's benefiting humans only. We're becoming a very selfish society.
Children are becoming disobedient... why, because of the lack of rules boundaries and limitations.
Aggression is not a breed thing. It's a state of mind, and it comes from how the human is with the dog. There are four levels of energy, regardless of the breed: low, medium, high, very high. The idea is to get a dog in your same level or lower than you.
We're the only species who follow unstable leaders. This is true - it has little to do with America - around the world, pack leaders are unstable. Animals don't follow that.
A lot of people, for example, live an anxious life. They don't realize they have a super-high level of anxiety. So we're gonna work on really writing down how anxious you feel at the moment you wake up. There's nothing wrong with it; the point is you learn to evaluate yourself and regulate yourself.
We moved to the city when I was 7, and the lack of exercise made me frustrated. I started fighting with my sisters, and my parents put me in judo as an outlet. I became very competitive and won a lot of medals.
