What was most comfortable with Mark was what we went with. That was the flat fee. We determine the flat fee together. Whenever you do contracts you want to make sure you're working on them together so you're both comfortable. I think that's what we did.

We just signed a basketball player (Tyrone Hansen) from Maine, so you know Mark (Fox, the men's basketball coach) had to fly all the way back there just for one player. That's going to cost some money.

We will not have any penalties. We knew that we would have three programs that were close and that we are in really good shape with some of our other programs. Overall, we are headed in the right direction.

It is really nice to see that we won't have any penalties. All of our coaches understand the importance of this. It is part of their job description now to meet these academic progress numbers.

It is important that we are all on the same page and the same time frame. I am a lot more comfortable talking to coaches about staying and making commitments when I know that I am going to be working with them. It provides security for the whole department.
