amount flash game guy involved knows love tremendous
Flash is a guy who knows a tremendous amount about the game and he has a way with people. I'd love to get him involved somehow.
areas embrace guys learned pieces spend thrive time trying upgrade waste
We've learned over time that when you have pieces that are working here in New York, don't waste your time trying to upgrade something that works, ... Spend your time working on areas that need to be addressed. We're going to embrace the guys we know can thrive in this environment.
available baseball guys hit joe last maybe remember time
Maybe it'll help, ... We've done it in the past. I don't remember the last time we did it, but he's available if guys want to hit off him. It's up to Joe and Donnie.
case four guys
With the four guys I have (in the middle), I can make a case for anything.
guys healthy high hopefully levels lose obviously period produce season stay unique whenever
Obviously it's something that's unique and difficult. We'll lose some guys for a period of time. Hopefully they produce at high levels for those clubs, stay healthy and get back to us whenever their WBC season is over.
afford catcher early guy offensive probable process
It's too early in the process to say, but it's possible. I can't tell you if it's probable or not, because it's only Nov. 16. We have an in-house guy that is a fly-ball catcher at the very least. With the offensive lineup we have, we can afford that.
both guy impact infectious johnny keeps people shows tone
I want the Johnny Damon that is fun-loving, keeps people loose, is a positive-attitude guy both on and off the field, in the clubhouse, and when he shows up for work, he has an infectious impact on the other guys. I don't want him to tone that down at all. I want the real guy.
blood closing depends guys honor
It really depends on the person. Some guys, closing is in their blood and it's all they want to do. Other guys feel it's an honor to set up for Mo and also play for the Yankees.
baseball drama extra guy lived prepared toughest
This guy has already been through the toughest baseball drama you can be part of. He lived through all of the extra scrutiny. He comes in here prepared for all of that.
appreciate base bond developed developing fan forward genuine guy lights maximum
He developed a bond up there for a reason. Their fan base is the same as ours; they appreciate maximum effort, accountability, he's a genuine guy and he lights up a room. I look forward to our fan base developing the same bond he had with that fan base.
easy guy track
I know he's not an easy guy to track down in the winter.
guys played role surprised
I have to be surprised that these guys have played such a big role for us.
expected finish great guy impact proud second
I'm very proud of his accomplishments. For a guy that wasn't even expected to have an impact on this roster, to finish second ... it's a great accomplishment.
ball camp continued great guys last mix playing push ready season themselves thinking tony until winter
I'm not thinking about that right now, but he's playing in winter ball right now and Tony Pena told us he's doing well down there. We didn't think Cano would be ready until 2006, but he had a great winter ball season last year, showed up at camp and continued it. Some guys push themselves in the mix quicker.
