athletic ball delay game guys handled issue offense outing percent performance ran running saturday style threw week
For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy.
changing option pound run style
I think you can kind of see everything changing from the old Purdue 'basketball on grass' style to a style where we're going to pound it, pound it and run some play option things off that.
opportunity win
We had every opportunity to win that game.
If we can do that, we're going to be successful.
guys sideline talking upset won
I was talking to some guys on the sideline and I said, 'We just won 49-24 and we're upset about the way we played,'
close last threw
It's the same old story, we can't close out games, ... I think on the last one I just threw it sidearm and it floated on me.
good option prepare tough
It's going to be good if defenses have to get out and prepare for the option and our 'basketball on grass,' ... I think it's going to be tough for defenses to play us. I feel we should be able to put up points.
country dame eyes fortunate game opportunity position staple team wants year
It's a staple game every year when we play Notre Dame and all eyes are on us. Every other team in the country wants to be in the position to play Notre Dame, and we're fortunate enough to have that opportunity this Saturday.

coming crowd deal exciting field fireworks game leadership leading love noise onto remember reminded rest retirement team victory
It was exciting, ... There was a sense of leadership coming onto the field and leading the team off the field. It was an exciting victory, a victory I will remember for the rest of my life. I had to deal with the crowd noise and the fireworks they set off before the game. There were just so many things going on that reminded me of how much I love this game and why I play it.
It's in the back of your mind, but it is not something day in and day out you think about,
football level rivalry seems sure tradition type
It just seems like it's a different level of football when you play Notre Dame. I'm not sure if it has to do with the rivalry or the tradition of Notre Dame. But it seems like it's a different type of game.

arizona good next practice week
It's a good thing we have a week of practice before we play next week, because I think Arizona (Saturday's opponent) is going to be a little more of a challenge.
