against figure flow knew needed score stay team though tough trading trying
We started off great, but we couldn't stay consistent. We go through droughts because we're still a young team trying to figure out how to score against tough defense. Even though we were ahead, I didn't like the flow of the game. We were trading baskets with Lehigh and you can't do that. I knew we needed to clamp down.
ahead corey schedule
Corey is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation.
challenge feels kids playing proud
It feels better to see our kids playing with passion. I'm really proud of these guys. They responded to the challenge tonight.
ability ball break defense driving finding great jay job open reason shot
I thought Jay Greene did a great job of driving the ball and finding open men. His ability to break down our whole defense was a big reason they shot so well.
basketball believe care defense good great passion points program seeing team truly unless wins
I don't care about points or stats or anything like that. All I care about is seeing our team play with great passion on defense. You can't be a good basketball program unless you truly believe that defense wins championships. We're getting there.
ability ball both great hamilton hard respect shots tough tremendous work
Simmons and Hamilton are great guards. They work hard to get the ball and their ability to make tough shots can be a back breaker. I have tremendous respect for both of them.
coming locker matt reed
Matt was like Willis Reed coming back out of the locker room.
afford cross energy game great holy needs offensive physical plays start team
We can't afford to start a game not sharp. Our offensive energy needs to be higher. Holy Cross had a lot to do with that. They are a physical team that plays great defense.
anticipate kid ready
That kid is a warrior. I anticipate that's he's going to be ready to play.
attitude bad everybody floor hide team
It's just an attitude a team develops. You can't hide a bad defender. Everybody on the floor has to do their part.
beginning best decide defending defensive field goal guards issues leadership poor problem savvy senior teams three year
It's a little embarrassing when you decide in the beginning of the year that you want to be one of the best 3-point field goal defensive teams in the league. Their guards were savvy and they really showed their senior leadership today. We need to get a little better defensively. We know what our issues are. I don't want to say defending the three has been our problem more than just poor communication.
attitude came decided game instead
That game was decided long before it began. We came out with a very offensive-minded attitude instead of the other way around.
both cleaner games good healthy learn lost teams
There were a lot of things we can learn from today. It was one of the cleaner games for both these teams in a long time. Obviously, I'm very disappointed we lost but just to have everyone back healthy is a good feeling.
feeling heads hold kids loss playing playoffs tough week
This is a tough loss for our program, but not an embarrassing loss. Our kids can hold their heads high. We head into the playoffs feeling we are playing better than a week ago.
