attempt draft extensions hopefully people picks signed
We're going to attempt to get as many people as we can signed to extensions and hopefully get our draft picks in on time.
bring draft everybody free good happens hard hope maybe pick players special starting
We had a special group, but it's hard to bring everybody back. That happens every year. You hope to keep a good nucleus, draft well and maybe pick up some free agents. It's going to be a challenge, but I like where we're starting and the players we're starting with.
bit draft extra good maybe move quality stay
That's what's good. You get those picks, get some extra picks, maybe move a little bit in the draft or stay and get some good quality players.
adding atmosphere drafting free goes good guys keeping key positive selling signing understood
You're not going to be able to keep everyone, and we've understood that as part of this system. I think a lot of it goes with keeping a good nucleus, drafting well and adding some key free agents, signing some of these guys back and selling them on the atmosphere we have. It's a very positive one.
drafted envision special turned
When we drafted Hines we didn't envision this. He has turned out to be a special, special player.
drafted fourth grab guys higher looking round teams third
We used to get them in the third and fourth round because no one else was looking for that guy. We didn't have to take them that high. Now those guys are getting drafted higher because a lot more teams are looking for them. If you wait, someone else is going to grab him before you do.
area bit brought depleted draft pieces
We're not going into the draft with any one area of need, and I think that was very important. And so we pretty much brought a lot of the pieces back. The only place we're a little bit depleted right now is at receiver.
bypass chance drafting fortunate high picking player premier sitting
I think we were very fortunate to be sitting there with Ben. You don't ever want to be drafting that high too often, but we were picking that high, and when you have a chance to get a premier player like that, you can't bypass him.
against caliber cannot dwell football game learn move obviously ruin
In hindsight, obviously you wouldn't want to do that in a game like this. Against this caliber of a football team, you cannot ruin opportunities like that. He understands that. I just told him to let it go, learn from it, and let's move on. Don't dwell on it.
chance diego easily fact left picked playing san says team year
In Denver, they had a chance to win. I think this team could very easily be 4-0, ... I think that says a lot about the fact that they've really picked up where they left off a year ago. I don't feel like we're playing like we did a year ago, but I think San Diego is.
consider fact guys reflective special teammates themselves
In my 14 years, I don't think we've ever had so many guys get votes. As I told the team, it was very reflective of what they thought of their teammates and the fact that they really do consider themselves a team. That is pretty special to get that many guys with two or more votes.
ability course deal good happen job plays respond teams trying weather within
In any big game, a lot of it comes down to an ability to weather storms, to be able to respond to situations. We did a good job down there but we didn't do a very good job up here. It comes down to making plays and trying to be opportunistic and deal with circumstances that happen within the course of a game. With these two teams it's going to come down to execution.
ball fourth fresh hand ideal negative nice quarter
In an ideal world, yes. I don't know how it's always going to unfold. It was nice to be able to have a fresh Jerome Bettis in the fourth quarter (Monday) night. That was a luxury. That's what you'd like to have in an ideal world. When we hand the ball to him, you know there was not going to be a negative play.
fact far knows likes pressure trying
In a lot of respects, we are going to be able to go as far as he is going to take us. I'm not trying to put any pressure on him. That's the fact and he likes that, he knows that.
