ask city closed expect mask needed ok people running wear
People didn't know what to expect running here. We actually have people ask if they needed to wear a mask when they ran. They wanted to know if the city was closed or if it was toxic. We had to tell them the air's OK to breathe, the water's OK to drink. They aren't in any danger.
calling calls leading normally people phone race receive run shot thinking
The race normally has about 5,600, 5,700. We had just under 3,200 today. We did receive a lot of phone calls leading up to the event. People were calling us thinking they had to run with masks, and do they need to get a tetanus shot before they come to the city.
race run special truly
It truly is probably the most special race that's every really been run here in this community.
ask city dome marathon people running runs safe
This city runs on tourists, and this marathon could set a tone. People ask me if it's safe down here for running -- of course, it's safe. I don't need a dome to run this race. I just need some roads.

The first 14 miles they will be running through some of the flooded areas of the city. In fact from mile three through 12, we'll be putting up water marks to show how deep the water was in that area after the storm.

angry feels good gun guy pull shoot sounds start traffic worried
This sounds good now. But we're worried about that guy in traffic that's tailgating. What if I start tailgating him and he feels threatened? He could get angry and pull out a gun and shoot me.
feet few fishing gray particular saw sure using watching water
We were using Stingsilvers. I had an idea there were a few grays around. I wasn't fishing any particular structure. I was fishing in 55 feet of water and watching the depth-finder. When I saw fish on the screen, I was pretty sure they were gray trout.
both environment learned point skills transport
It's a new environment and a new point in both of our careers, where we can see if we can transport some of the skills (we learned in Humboldt County).
both experience looking
(The experience is) different for both of us. It wasn't really what I was looking for, it just kind of happened.
came change days either five four gas gotten irritates load matter owner previous pure until
What irritates me about it is I know they haven't gotten gas in days. Their gas came in four or five days ago. The previous owner wouldn't change his prices, either up or down, until he got another load of gas. It's just a matter of profiteering, pure and simple.
bad good mediocre mixed news
I think we're getting mixed messages. Good news one day, mediocre news the next, and bad news after that.
close
It's no coincidence that it's close to Valentine's Day.
