Chad is improving a little bit every day, like a lot of our newer players are, ... I don't think he's ever really played this position. But he's a smart guy. He picked it up well and he's a good football player.
Chad has had some versatility throughout his career, so I'm sure that he would be able to do that.
But your whole advantage offensively, is to know when the ball is being snapped. Defensively, that's your one disadvantage.
Honestly, we went through this at the end last year with the San Francisco game (and the starters played most of the game). Were treating this like a regular week ... I don't think anybody else really knows any other way to do it around here?. I don't think the players do. I don't think the coaches do. It's football season. Maybe I'll see it differently next week. I don't know.
He really brings as good a combination of all the linebacker skills as anyone does,
Graham runs well, too. He can get down there. I think overall when those guys are out there, we have an element of the vertical passing game from the tight ends.
I felt that once we got to the 31, 32 yard line, we were in field goal range. We didn't want to get in the situation where we throw a couple incomplete passes and Pittsburgh had another timeout. It's like basketball; we were playing for the last shot.
He's upbeat. He does have fun out there. He enjoys the competition, and I think he likes what he is doing.
He's unique in the fact that he is a very powerful inside runner. He is a strong guy, a big kid that can run through people,
He's an impact player. You have to know where he is. You have to defend him. He beat us inside on a rush down there in the preseason game last year, I don't know, for about a 15-, 17-yard sack, whatever it was. We don't have any quarterbacks that can run away from him, I can tell you that. If he's after us, he's going to get us. He's a lot faster than we are.
I don't think there's anything special about where we've taken them or haven't taken them. It just worked out that way. It's not with any intent to take them or not take them. It's kind of how the draft falls, in that particular year, in that particular round.
I don't think that the issue is talent. It's more from a consistency standpoint and being able to gain the experience, and do it competitively the right way every time.
I don't see how you can say anybody is better than them. They haven't lost a game. That's more than anybody else can say.
I don't think Deion has any problem with it. I don't think a lot of our players have a problem with it. They understand what the expectations are of their position and their role, and they want to go out there and fulfill them.
