Detachment, non-fondness with son, wife, and home; unfailing equanimity upon attainment of the desirable and the undesirable; and / Unswerving devotion to Me by the yoga of exclusivity, love for solitude, distaste for social gossips; and / Steadfastness in knowledge of the Supreme Spirit, and the perception of (the omnipresent God as) the object of true knowledge is called knowledge; what is contrary to this is ignorance.

A person whose mind is unattached to sensual pleasures, who discovers the joy of the Self, and whose mind is in union with Brahman through meditation, enjoys eternal bliss.

A person whose all works are free from selfish desires and motives, and whose all Karma is burned up in the fire of Self-knowledge, is called a sage by the wise.
best fierce primal understand wish
Tell me who are You in such a fierce form? My salutations to You, O best of gods, be merciful! I wish to understand You, the primal Being, because I do not know Your mission.

Seers whose sins (or imperfections) are destroyed, whose doubts have been dispelled by knowledge, whose disciplined minds are attached with the Self, and who are engaged in the welfare of all beings attain Supreme Brahman.
alone attain eternal grace peace refuge seek shall supreme
Seek refuge in Him alone with all your heart, O Arjuna. By His grace you shall attain supreme peace and the eternal abode.
eyes form frightened great large mouth neither nor open peace seeing shining touching wide
Seeing Your great effulgent and various-colored form touching the sky; Your mouth wide open and large shining eyes; I am frightened and find neither peace nor courage, O Krishna.
becomes body compassion dear desire fail fathers great hairs limbs mouth overcome ranks seeing standing
Seeing fathers-in-law, all those kinsmen, and other dear ones standing in the ranks of the two armies, / Arjuna was overcome with great compassion and sorrowfully said: O Krishna, seeing my kinsmen standing with a desire to fight, / My limbs fail and my mouth becomes dry. My body quivers and my hairs stand on end.

Practice to look upon all creatures as Myself in thought, word, and deed; and mentally bow down to them.

That one I love who is incapable of ill will, and returns love for hatred. Living beyond the reach of I and mind, and of pain and pleasure, full of mercy, contented, self-controlled, with all his heart and all his mind given to Me / with such a one I am in love.
beings born delusion due ignorance likes utter
All beings in this world are in utter ignorance due to the delusion of dualities born of likes and dislikes, O Arjuna.
