action becomes behind motive selfish
No one becomes a Karma-yogi who has not renounced the selfish motive behind an action.
attains giving merely perfection
No one attains perfection by merely giving up work.
both dear evil full good likes neither nor rejoices
One who neither rejoices nor grieves, neither likes nor dislikes, who has renounced both the good and the evil, and who is full of devotion, such a person is dear to Me.
delusion desires hates neither nor presence
One who neither hates the presence of enlightenment, activity, and delusion nor desires for them when they are absent.
control heat honor mind pleasure supreme tranquil
One who has control over the mind is tranquil in heat and cold, in pleasure and pain, and in honor and dishonor; and is ever steadfast with the Supreme Self.
attains finds happiness rejoices self supreme yogi
One who finds happiness with the Self, who rejoices the Self within, and who is illuminated by the Self-knowledge; such a yogi attains supreme nirvana.
dear envy friend
One who does not envy but us a compassionate friend to all ... such a devotee is very dear to Me.
attains becomes desires feeling free longing
One who abandons all desires and becomes free from longing and the feeling of 'I' and 'my' attains peace.
alone earthly three wish
I do not wish to kill them, who are also about to kill, even for the sovereignty of the three worlds, let alone for this earthly kingdom, O Krishna.
easily mind thinks whose yogi
I am easily attainable, O Arjuna, by that ever steadfast yogi who always thinks of Me and whose mind does not go elsewhere.
delighted fear mind seen tormented
I am delighted by beholding that which has never been seen before, and yet my mind is tormented with fear.
believe resort supreme ultimate universe
I believe You are the imperishable, the Supreme to be realized. You are the ultimate resort of the universe.
born deluded ignorance noble perform rich shall thus
I am rich and born in a noble family. I am the greatest. I shall perform sacrifice, I shall give charity, and I shall rejoice. Thus deluded by ignorance
among self-knowledge silence
I am silence among the secrets, and the Self-knowledge of the knowledgeable.
