Beth Dunkenbergeris in her fifth season with the Tulane Green Wave and fourth as assistant basketball coach. After serving as the program's director of operations during the 2011-12 season, Dunkenberger assists in all facets of the Tulane team including game planning, recruiting and supervising the student-athletes' academic progress. defense difference intensity mark order pick second talked until
We talked about having to pick up our intensity on defense in order to make a difference in that game. I don?t think we really did that until the 14-minute mark in that second half, and when we did, that?s when we were able to go on a big run.

Down the stretch I thought we were aggressive on offense, but the key for us was defensive rebounding.

We hate it because they're playing and we can't be there. Obviously we want to be in the stands and watch the best of the best right now. We'll still be there. They're just shortening the number of days we can come out.

We were flat, we didn't play well. We got into a situation where shots weren't falling for us, and we got frustrated.

Everybody's really new too; it's not like there's a lot of team chemistry there.

We didn't take care of the ball, and we didn't execute against the zone and there was a lid on the basket. I thought early on we were dribbling right into them and trying to shoot over them, and that makes it a little bit easier to block.

We'd love to give the best players in the state a chance to play at home. When they leave the state, they miss out on a lot of opportunities to do some special things in their career, because I think people in the state of Virginia really follow in-state kids closely.
