They took it to us physically. They beat us on the glass. We seemed to be a step slow.
They take great pride in representing. But they have more pride than anything in playing for each other.
They take a punch and keep on going with it. It's just a testament to their toughness and their character, and to the different guys on the team that get a chance to step up.
Although we won by 12, the score was not indicative that we were pretty much in control the last 16, 17 minutes. It was fun.
They played really, really hard. I have confidence in our guys one through 10.
They need to understand this is a unique fraternity and it is truly an honor to be part of it. And I really think they get it. They totally get it. They understand.
They must have eight guys who are long, athletic, bouncy and can block shots. It's like walking into a human fly swatter.
They're coming at you in waves of athletes.
They're obviously a great shooting team. Any time you shoot 39 percent on the year from three as a team, that's outstanding.
That was about 20 minutes into practice. He did not practice the rest of the time. Has some swelling there. We'll see how it feels. ... I would expect it would take a lot to keep him out of the game.
That's my expectation, that we're going to feed off this win and it's going to make us better. We're going to need to be better, a lot better, to have a chance to beat Memphis.
The repair to Alfred's left knee is less severe than his right, so the rehabilitation time will be less. This will be a quicker healing process. It's all good news, much better than expected.
This is what they've worked so hard for, to get a chance to continue to play. We've got our work really cut out for us in playing one of the top teams in the country in Gonzaga.
The bottom line is if we make our foul shots, it doesn't come down to Steele taking a 3-point shot at the end.
