We're showing flashes of brilliance. The key now is to sustain it. People are excited about us in town. I hear about it all the time when I'm out there in the community. But it won't mean a thing if we can't keep it going.
I felt at the beginning of the season, and I still do, that we have one of the top backcourts in the league. We just have to continue to play like it.
We were not as sharp as we usually are, ... They have very good one-on-one players, and down the stretch we couldn't hit our open 3-point shots.
But, obviously, I don't think that had much to do with it. It's motivation. I'm just going to do what I got to do on the court and let my game speak for itself.
Derek Fisher and myself, we bring a lot to this team, as far as winning, ... When you want to win, when you experience winning streaks, you get upset when you lose. It feels bad. When you're accustomed to losing, then you really don't have any feelings towards it.
It's good that we got kicked tonight. It lets us know where we stand, and know that we've still got to keep working hard.
It's frustrating. We could have put that game away had we come with the energy we started the game with. It's up to every individual to come mentally prepared and ready to play. If that doesn't happen, we're not going to win.
They were trying to show me L.A., ... But I knew more than they did. That was my city.
I tried not to push off too hard on it.
It's all a part of stepping up. It was great tonight that everybody pulled their weight. I always have the utmost confidence in my teammates.
We're just trying to get a win at this point. Can't talk about playoffs when you're losing.
We're a rhythm team. If we're not playing to a certain rhythm, a certain beat, a certain pace, then we have to make adjustments and I think tonight we let the Lakers dictate, dictate, dictate and then we got down and then we tried to force the tempo.
We're getting there. We're trying to keep ourselves in ballgames. We just got to close it out.
