I've been playing since early August and it was a slow process getting back in. It wasn't until mid to late September when I started to feel like myself again. I feel light-years better than I did last year coming into this season physically.

That whole Connecticut thing is tough. It's a tough situation. We're off the radar. Like nobody's really talking about us, but they are. So no matter what, Connecticut's always going to come out of somebody's mouth whether it's negative, positive. It's been tougher this year than any year for me. It's something that we've done a really good job of fighting through, and I think that's why we are in the position we're in right now.

I don't think we understood that last year, but this year we've gotten better at understanding that we need to pull the next generation along. Next year, they're not going to have any seniors. They have to be ready to do the same things we're doing. Then they'll understand why we're always on them. When it's their turn, they'll be ready.

Obviously, we feel better going into the postseason. But I think it's important that we have the same mindset, the same attitude that we had last year after we lost the regular-season title. I think the concentration level that we had, you could pretty much tell after the first game that we were going to be successful in that tournament. It had that feeling to it. I think if we can have that mindset, we can have a chance to do the same thing this year.

This is the time of year where everybody is banged up, because it's the toughest stretch. I'm sure everybody in the country has two or three of their best players that aren't feeling 100 percent physically, but it's just a matter of where you are mentally.

I think it's real important (to win the championship) because we haven't had a year in our career where we've won both. So I think that's something that we've talked about also as being part of being a part of our legacy to be able to say that we won both regular season and tournament championships. We just lost our composure. I give them credit. They played hard, but mostly it was us playing too fast. We went on a run at the beginning, but then they started to press and we lost our minds.

It was weird. I said Friday I'd be surprised if we didn't play well. But we didn't. We had a big crowd tonight and we wanted to play well in front of them. Everything was so fast and out of the ordinary that it turned out wrong.
