I was signed by L.A. Reid on Arista Records when I was 16. He understood me and believed in me. Arista folded and I got put on RCA or whatever, then there were new people there, and every six months it changes and more new people come in.
I only toured for three months. As soon as I got off [tour], I was just dying to start recording, because it was on my mind: 'I've got to make another record now.' And I was totally excited.
People like Shakira shouldnt have record contracts. She cant even speak English.

Well it's so true because I was only 17 -- I was right out of high school, I didn't even finish,
It felt like it was a break, because I was in one place the whole time,

When I'm home I go out with my friends. I go shopping, I go to clubs and I go to movies, ... There's just a certain way you have to do it, and I know how to handle myself and I know how to take care of myself and where I can and can't go and when I can and can't go. It's all do-able. I still have a life. I may have to work a little harder at it, but that's totally fun because most of the time I'm busy anyway.
If something is meant to be, it's gonna work. If two people believe in something really strongly, I think a longdistance relationship is easy. They just make the time to be together. And you have to remember that any relationship is going to be hard...mostly because you're two different people and you have to figure stuff out.
