felt five good last second six team
We felt like we could play a lot better second half. We were up three, so we felt pretty good about where we were. We've been a second-half team in the last four, five or six games. We've always been able to make a push, and were able to do it again.
definitely figure nice size stop
He's a nice player. We're definitely going to have to figure something out to stop him. His size is a concern.
basketball calm central floor foul free game home kept kids knew lead physical playing spread stay telling tough
We knew it would be a tough, physical basketball game and playing Central on its home floor would be a tough chore. We just kept telling the kids to stay calm and composed. Once we got the lead we were able to spread the floor and make them foul us. We didn't make a lot of free throws, but we made enough.
bring call came joe option second
Finally, I got a call from Joe and he wanted to bring me up. He called me back a second time, and they were the only ones that called. Steeleville came in late, but this was the only option I had.
good playing
We have been playing very good defense, and we have rebounded well.
eight good key kids lead playing seem seven together
We have good balance, and we have had seven or eight kids lead us in scoring, which has been another key for us. We seem to be playing well together right now.
against confidence faced gives local quality record region schedule straight teams three tough
We had a tough non-region schedule with three straight local opponents, then having to go on the road. Three-one is a quality record against the teams that we have faced so far, and that gives us some confidence going into region play.
active catch half run stood third zone
I thought when they made that little run there in the third quarter, we stood around. We weren't as active in our zone and we let (Rudy) catch it, where the first half we didn't let him catch it.
glad last looked responsibility top zone
I thought that last one of his looked good. He had the responsibility on top of that zone and that's a lot of work, but I'm glad to see him play well.
against competition experience good help helped played prepared road schedule teams though won
I think that one thing that will help us is our schedule and our season. We've played good competition, we've played good teams and we've won on the road against good teams. That experience has prepared us for this run. Even though we have some losses, it's helped us.
basically defending key letting second
It basically comes down to us defending and rebounding and not letting them have second opportunities. That's been the key for us. When we rebound, we usually have ... success.
doubt early faced far guard job second spots trouble weak
He's by far the quickest guard we've faced this year, without a doubt. That was one of our weak spots defensively was guarding off the dribble. We had trouble with it early in the year. We thought we done a better job the second half.
build felt figured pound pressure
We figured they were going to pound it in there to him. We just kind of felt like if we could get them down, the pressure would build on them and they would do some things that they couldn't do, or just individually take over. That's kind of the way it happened.
defended handful sure switch tried
(Williams) was a handful because of the way we defended him. We just tried to switch everything on Terrill and make sure we had a hand in his face.
