sports jobs motivation
I want my legacy to be that I was a man of character, I was a God fearing man and somebody who bettered the sport in terms of the way I represented the sport. But also that fact that I was a fierce competitor and fought the best in the world and was able to come out on top, so if those things could be said about me, then I look at it as a job well done.
taken fighting hbo
The road I've taken to this point has not been easy. Being back on HBO is a big thing, but fighting on HBO in my hometown is huge. To be great you have to fight the best. Chad has beaten the best so these are the type fights I want to take. I will put on a great show for all the fans that come out to Oracle Arena.
motivation fighting challenges
Every fighter is my toughest challenge to date. After I get done with one fight, the next challenge is the toughest.
almost closest fighter gets pumped ready time
Every time a fighter comes out to fight me, this is almost a world-title fight. This may be the closest he gets to the big time. So absolutely, I'm pumped and I'm ready for each and every fight.
bell bring control establish fly game main plans rings roy soon thinks whose
As soon as that bell rings for the first round, ... you have to establish whose ring it is. That's really all I try to do -- I try not to think to much, I don't think Roy thinks to much in the ring. We try to think on the fly -- we bring game plans to the ring but the main thing is to take control of the ring, from the jump.
again break gold learn olympian prove start turn
You can learn a lot from the Olympics, but you have to learn the sport again when you turn pro. Just being an Olympian or a gold medalist isn?t going to get you a break when you take off that headgear and start prizefighting. You?ve got to prove yourself all over again, every day.
ability amazing both fighting fly guys hands left looking major switch work
I am very comfortable fighting southpaw, ... both my right and left hands are powerful. My ability to switch on the fly really is amazing -- most guys are not looking for it and then BOOM, I switch to southpaw and they are on the mat. I think that is a major part of my game, and I work on that as much as I do my conventional style.
hit knew open type wide
When I hit him, I knew it was over, ... It's a concussive type of punch. Because he's a lefty, he was wide open for that shot.
gotten hardest living respected
My mind-set has gotten a little more serious. I've always respected the game, but now this is my living. The hardest part is being away from my family.
fight quick understand
I get up for every fight and he has to understand that. I think he'll understand that real quick Saturday.
plan somebody tough
He's a tough kid. Somebody has to go (down), and I don't plan on it being me.
despise grateful small
I never want to despise small beginnings. I?m grateful for where we?re at right now.
throwback trainer
I think my jab has a lot to do with having a throwback trainer in Virgil,
