Obviously, you never know when it's your last go, ... I mean, I certainly have no plans one way or another. But I've been around long enough to know how short-lived all of this is.
Let's be clear about something. I wasn't the winner, tennis was. I never felt I was going to win that match but somehow it just fell my way.
I felt I needed a good break after Wimbledon. I was mentally and physically exhausted and frustrated. I've come back to practice with a much greater purpose, the way I'm hitting the ball has made me excited. It may not happen this week, next or at the Open, but I know I'm good enough for what I want to do to pay dividends somewhere down the line.
I felt like I was playing good tennis and that's a great feeling. It's only the second match, but it's certainly a great one for me.
I felt as the match went on I was getting more comfortable with my movement, and that's a good thing,
I feel like I missed Wimbledon two years in a row, and I feel I've missed the French two years in a row, ... I was out on the court in Paris and I literally couldn't move. Everything was hurting me...to sit down, it was hurting me to stand, it was hurting me to walk. And it was just helpless. I don't like that feeling.
I feel like I've experienced every part of my game throughout this first week and I've liked the levels I've hit.
What Jimmy did was incredible, ... I've heard him talk about it as if it was the most meaningful thing to him. That certainly speaks volumes with a career like that. A match like tonight can add to your life, regardless of the titles on the line.
While I know that taking injections is not a way of life, I'm only looking at a few years, so that's a reasonable approach towards it.
To see 20,000 people out here after 1 o'clock in the morning, I wasn't the winner,
To say it (the injured hip) was 100 percent would probably be overstating it but to be able to have the time to get it better up to this point is a great sign that it will be 100 percent.
To deal with Jonas the way I did today wasn't easy to do, so I have to feel good about many parts of my game.
Unfortunately, I know this process all too well, ... I know exactly what it needs.
Unfortunately, even with the amount of training and rehabilitation I've been going through, my ankle is still not 100 per cent.
