Writing music is my therapy. It’s very purifying!
I feel like for me the lyric writing really comes from just what's going on in my heart and that's what consumes me; think a lot of our heart is relationships. Not just with boyfriend or girlfriend but all your relationships in your life with other people and our interactions with other humans.
I write by myself initially. That's the way I've always written, just working on pure thought by myself. Then I bring it to the table with whoever I'm collaborating with.
My biggest dream from the beginning - besides Evanescence - is scoring film and writing music for film.
My darlings, if I can't write dark, epic music, I can't live!
I'm singing from my heart now more than ever. I've gotten a lot braver with my writing.
People will spend copious amounts of time and money working on a costume, only to have no one recognize what character they're dressed as.
Me and my husband say parents of a parent should raise their children. Some people need help with their children more than others, and she's one of the ones that needs some help.
'The Nightmare Before Christmas' is my number one biggest influence artistically in every way.
I'm the goofball. I'm the person cracking people up.
I never really did abandon my true self. It's not like I invented this imaginary person and started to be her.
I like Israel. The fans are incredible. It was the best.
I cry alot-I dont know why, but it just helps me. I cry over bad and good stuff-sometimes sadness can be beautiful
We've never been a religious band, but the media wants us to be.
