hockey toughest year
That first year was the toughest year of hockey I'd ever been through.
allow bit emotional group guys huge jump knowing lift locker pressure relax score takes
It's a huge emotional lift for this group (to score first). In the locker room, that's what the guys always say, 'Let's get that first goal, let's jump on them early.' It takes the pressure off. You allow yourself to relax a little bit knowing you got that first one.
chance compete gives hard intensity match seen skate
We've seen how hard they play. They compete so hard, they're up and down the ice, they skate well and they're physical. If we can match their intensity and play as hard as they do, that gives us a chance to be successful.
beside freshman front game goal last neat scores year
Tommy scored our first goal our freshman year in our first game and now he scores the last one, so pretty neat for him. But what an unbelievable script. To do it right in front of these people, too, in front of this crowd, I'm just beside myself.
area finding hit knack missed soft spot
Tommy has that knack for finding a soft area in the slot. Same spot he missed from earlier, but he hit it that time.
came couple deserve dominated fans game heads last minutes scramble sticks tie won work yale year
Yale had won one game all year and they came in and they dominated us. We had to scramble in the last couple of minutes just to tie it up, 1-1. It's embarrassing. The fans don't deserve to have to see that, and for the work that we put in as a group, that's embarrassing to us. That sticks in the back of our heads - I know it sticks in my head.
leap promise wrapped
The promise was I was going to do a Lambeau Leap into the glass, but I got so wrapped up in the moment, I didn't know what I was doing out there.
four league maybe win
To win the league is probably over. This is about as disappointed as I think I've been maybe in my four years.
build change character five formed seniors year
To go through that, to build the character that us five seniors have and kind of formed us who we are today, I wouldn't change a thing. I'd have that first year the same way so I could end up just like this year.
face national talk won
They talk their trash, they come out there and they back it up. They're in your face the whole game. They don't back off for one second. They're tough, they're physical, they have skill. I can tell right now why that team's won two national championships.
center feeling night support sure
They're going to support us and that place is going to be packed every night, I'm sure of it. They're going to be loud, they're going to be screaming. It's going to be a mini-Kohl Center feeling that we're going to have.
allowing dressing excitement feeling goals group guys magic score time
This is the same group of guys that got to 18-2-2, so that excitement and that magic is still in that dressing room. The feeling we have now is, 'Hey, we're back to where we were, if not better, the way we've been playing.' To still be able to score goals while at the same time not allowing these guys to score anything, you feel awesome.
college extra guys hockey saying stage time ultimate wait
This is the ultimate stage in college hockey and we're excited. I don't feel any pressure. I don't think these guys feel any extra pressure, it's more of an excitement. We've been saying we couldn't wait for this time to come.
boys guys three win
The boys will win another one. I think the guys are going to be the first ones to win three (in a row).
