Throughout my career, I've always been the kind of guy who likes to stand towards the middle of the plate. And balls come in there.
We got good balanced scoring tonight. We did a nice job of getting the ball inside to our post players. I was pleased with the team's effort.
They are just great, great ball defenders. They've done it to a lot of people this year.
We scored six runs in the first inning. We had three hits and one walk in that inning and Stowe had seven errors. And then after the first inning it was a 3-3 ball game.
I've taken ground balls there during batting practice and Orlando's given me tips like a good veteran. ... I'll work hard at it and it'll feel like home,
We shot the ball very well. We hit seven 3-pointers and we made them come out of their zone and challenge us.
I thought we shot the ball well from the outside, especially in the third quarter. We had solid scoring from everyone, and defensively we were very solid.
He (Howard) had the game of his life tonight. He really stepped up when we needed him to. Brad had only eight points, but he's just as glad to pass the ball off or draw the double team and allow someone else to shoot.
With the win we clinched the first seed for the playoffs. This was a great win over our rival. In addition to Brad's points he also had 23 rebounds, several blocks and a couple of steals.
I think we had more Blue Jays fans than Yankees fans. I think we can compete with everybody.
We have a lot to work on. But we're getting experience.
Troy Lemay, who is the heart and soul of our team, did an outstanding job of holding Rosso - who averages in the high 20s to only eight points.
It's going to be easy to work hard with him because he keeps it fun but he also knows your game so much. Honestly, it's a pleasure getting out there with him because I learn so much when I'm spending time with him.
It's fun to make it interesting for the Red Sox-Yankees pennant race. We're a big team this week.
