It would be an honor. This is the oldest franchise.
ball half hit home inner power ran second trying
The second at-bat, on the home run, I was trying to go in, and the ball ran out over the inner half of the plate. That's his power zone. Give him credit. He's fast, and he's out there trying to get on base, but he can hit for power.
anybody behind defense game good hurt pitches tough warming whether
That's a very tough lineup, and anybody in it can hurt you. I executed my pitches and had good defense behind me. You can never tell warming up whether you're going to have a good game like that.
ball five four good hit key picked plays
I was getting them to hit the ball on the ground. Edwin picked me up, made about four or five good plays for me. Those plays come up key getting you out of an inning.
change control hit speeds
I think of myself more as a control pitcher. I can get it up in the mid-90s every once in a while, but I just try to change speeds and hit my spots.
baseball three toughest
Those are three of the toughest outs in baseball.
half rushing since week
I was rushing on some of them, but it's been a week and a half since I've thrown.
affect approach couple last leagues minor pitches throw
I feel good. I didn't throw a lot of pitches in my last start. I feel comfortable about being able to go (Sunday). I've done it a couple of times in the minor leagues when I've been up or down a level. It won't affect how I approach the game.
execute felt game good
You can never tell if you're going to have a good game like this. I felt like I was able to execute my pitches.
anybody arm baseball build franchise innings league major oldest opening ready shape
It's the oldest franchise in Major League Baseball. For anybody to get that Opening Day start, it's an honor. But I'm going to go out and get ready for the season, build up some innings and get my arm in shape this spring.
game next throw week
No. That's just one of those things about the game that's weird. One week you can not have it and the next week you come out and throw well.
base gets guy lazy pick runner second struggling third
It's something we're going to try, because you never know. I mean, during the season, it could come up where you've got a runner on second and third or first and second, with two outs, and you've been struggling to get out of the inning, and a guy kind of gets lazy off second base - boom, pick him off, inning over.
biggest bullpen chance coming downs everybody fill finish guys innings last ready seven six starters step ups veteran
The biggest thing is everybody has to be consistent. We had some ups and downs last year. Guys are coming in early, getting ready for the season. We've got some veteran guys to fill in the bullpen. Starters have to step up and get us through six or seven innings and give our bullpen a chance to finish it.
best comfort gets habit level work
The best place to work on it is down here. What it does is, it gets you in a habit and gets your comfort level with doing something new.
