album connect era harder musicians opportunity people ran room
In this era it's harder for musicians to get together, ... Back in the '80s, we were all at the clubs, you ran into people all the time. Now, everybody's kind of in their own room with their computers. I use making an album as an opportunity to connect with musicians. Marcus Miller

album explain few folk imagine list means onstage rest singing songs standing tired type urban
I don't really know how to explain it, ... I think that those are just the type of songs that I imagine standing onstage and singing for the rest of my life. Each one of them means a lot to me. It's important I have those songs on the set list because they keep me up onstage. I'm not much of a storyteller. I am, but I get tired of the same story after a few spins. I can't really imagine writing an album of urban folk tales. Dave Grohl
album average band creative dual entire explore half injustice intellect language less lyrics opportunity outer passion personal pretend saying singer smarter sure vocabulary voice
I don't pretend to be any smarter than Average Joe. To be honest, I'm not even sure what I'm saying half the time. My vocabulary is not as big as my lyrics would suggest. That said, I've always had a passion for creative writing, language and wordplay. I think a singer has a dual opportunity to be artistic: I have my voice as my instrument, but I also have an entire language at my disposal. Why not explore the outer realms? I'd be doing this band an injustice if I did anything less. I wanted this album to be more poetic, with less ranting and raving, and I think I did that, but without sacrificing my intellect or personal philosophies.
album great liked means music production second song time
I don't know if I have a 'Greatest Album Ever.' I really liked 'The Blueprint' by Jay-Z. The production on that album was really great. 'All I Need' was the first song I used for walk-on music in 2002 for my second time ever on stage, so that means a lot to me. Hannibal Buress
