gone hours leaving school sleeping three
When you're sleeping or getting up to go to school, that's when we're just leaving the studio, and we'll be gone for three hours and then come back and be working another 15 to 20 hours.
father school one-day
My father being a Caribbean minister, one day I stole the radio. The radio that I stole, I took it to school, showing off how big this boom box was and how bad I was at the time. Once my father figured out where I left the radio, he then got his belt and he walked me, he beat me all the way to where I had hid the radio, and with the boom box.
school cutting successful
Wyclef is a musician that tried to unite as many musicians at once as possible. I am trying to be successful at that. The greatest challenge is that, I just got arrested for protesting in NYC for cutting the school budgets... And I think that it's important to stand up. Schools are important.
school kfc bird
I lived in a hut with no roof, and I rode to school on a donkey. I used to shoot birds with a slingshot to cook for dinner. Now I prefer to get my food from KFC.
school musical band
I was a jazz major in high school, in an all-jazz band. No matter what I do, it features my musical influences.
father war school
Me and my father went through a war period where we wasn't talking. He wanted me to go to theology school - I didn't want to go. I wanted to do music. I told him I was a minister through music.
artist brings gotta loop throw
It's not fake. I don't need to go in the studio, throw in a record, do a loop and put it out. To find an artist, you've gotta find the artist that brings it to you. There has to be a 50/50 balance.
coming growing hard
It was hard in the beginning: coming from Haiti, coming to Brooklyn. I mean, growing up in the projects.
children haiti hurt innocent violence
I want to see the violence in Haiti stopped. Innocent people, innocent children are getting hurt and killed every day.
album caribbean guitar mixed playing rock since style talking
I'm going to do an all-guitar album because I've been playing since I was 13. My Caribbean style mixed with my rock style. I want to do a musicians' album-just the guitar talking with different melodies.
double house kicked led raised
I led a double lifestyle-in the house, I was one way, and out the house, I was another way. Man, the whole house raised hell, then I got kicked out.
losing therapy
I had to make this album. It was my therapy after losing my dad. If I didn't have music, I'd probably be strung-out somewhere.
king spring
I'm the King of Spring Ting! Without 'Clef you can't have no Spring Ting!
happens matter thirst yesterday
No matter what happens today, yesterday was historical. The only thing that erupted was the thirst to vote.
