continuity perfect solid somebody step
In a perfect world, yeah, you'd like somebody to step up. To have that solid lineup is what you like as a manager. You like to have that continuity going through it every day.
coming guys perfect talked time
This was the perfect time to do it. I always like to let the guys know where I'm coming from. We talked hitting, we talked defense. It's something I don't think we do enough of in baseball.
coming guys perfect time today worked
That was something that I usually like to do periodically, but today was a perfect time to do it. I always like to let guys know where I'm coming from and what I expect. It worked out good, because if we were on the field, we probably wouldn't have had it.
foundation gotta perfect solid somebody step
Gotta do it on the field, brother. In a perfect world, yeah, I'd like somebody to step up.... To have that solid lineup, solid foundation every day is what you like as a manager.
sure wrong
I'm sure he's going to play in the Cup. Why not? He's fine. There's nothing wrong with him. Nothing serious. So why not?
good guy knew
I knew he was fine. It was good to see him out there, good to see what the guy can do for us.
pushing
I like him a lot. He's pushing everybody. I like what I see.
billy breaking building protect
I'm legit now. I won't be breaking Billy Martin's or Earl Weaver's records, but that's been building up for a long time. I don't want to get a reputation, but I want to protect my players.

certain continuing solid spring style toward training work
It's Spring Training, so you get your work in. But we're still continuing to work toward a certain style of solid play, how we go about our business. I want to see some of that, too. Spring Training isn't just about stats.
second win
It's not going to be a thing if he comes here where we say, 'OK, fine, put him at second and let him play,' because we want to win games,
best early good hitters longer strong trend wait
Everyone is strong early in the season. I think it's best to wait a little longer and see if the trend sticks. I just think some good hitters are off to some good starts.
amount certain closer loop medical pitches reports taking
Everyone pitches with a certain amount of discomfort. We have medical reports every day and Loop never said anything about not taking the ball. He was my closer and he said he was fine.
case plans work
Nothing really official. But, we have plans in case it doesn't work out that way.
