bust gets hitters
Sometimes big hitters try to do too much. Sometimes he gets down on himself, but we keep him going. He's going to bust out of it.
barry best bonds conscious course decision faces game hitters hope obviously pick presence situation spots team totally
Every situation is totally different for me. Every team that faces Barry Bonds has the same dilemma. You just pick your spots in the course of the game and you try to make the right decision and hope that it's executed. It's no different than any other team. Obviously, he's still a presence and obviously he's still one of the best hitters in the game and you have to be very conscious of him.
bigger fourth hitter ken learns mean sort steal third
It doesn't mean that's where you should be, you know? ... When Carlos understands what he is, when he learns to make adjustments better, I see him being a third or fourth hitter because he can steal bases, he can hit and he's going to get bigger and stronger, sort of like Ken Griffey Jr.
coming hitters react sending
With our 4-5-6 hitters coming up, I'm not sending him. I don't second-guess myself. I just react to what I see.
best early good hitters longer strong trend wait
Everyone is strong early in the season. I think it's best to wait a little longer and see if the trend sticks. I just think some good hitters are off to some good starts.
expect hitter hitting people prefer third
I told him that I'd prefer him not to do that, ... I know that I'm hitting third and a lot of people expect the third hitter to never bunt. I don't think like that.
expect good hitters swinging
This is what I expect from our guys. We've got a lot of good hitters in the lineup and when they're swinging like this, it's what they should be doing.
balls capitalize good hitters poor
Good hitters capitalize on poor pitching. He got some balls up in the zone.
best expect hitters seen
He's one of the best hitters in baseball. I've seen him for a long time. This is what I expect from him.
bat swinging
We've been swinging the bat well all year. Everyone contributes to that.
couple good leaving pitchers ran shut
We just ran into a couple of good pitchers and they shut us down after leaving Arizona.
gave regular routine stay
We just gave a heads-up that's a possibility. He'll stay on a regular routine for now and then we'll see.
games might win
We might win 15 games in a row.
fair options speculate time
We could do a lot of different things. It's not fair to speculate right after the game, when you've got time to think what your options are.
