Memory is a very amorphous thing. It is selective and shaped by emotion . . . people are constantly in pursuit of the details of their past because it is from that they determine their own identity upon which they can base their strategy of survival.
Humor has historically been tied to the mores of the day. The Yellow Kid was predicated on what people thought was funny about the immigrant Irish. When you're different in a society, you're funny.
Many people in technology say the killer app is pirated content, ... Some feel the availability of illegal content sells computers. It's very hard to negotiate with an industry that thinks its short-term growth is dependent on theft.
There have been some economic challenges, and of course 9/11, and then this year there's been like a strike a day, and then they had the heat wave, where 10,000 people died, so therefore not even the pixie dust that Disney has can help,
