We only had seven or eight seniors on the team our senior year, but we played good defense and played that tough brand of football that Joe liked. When I listen to Kirk speak, I still hear a lot of the words and phrases that Joe used to tell us.

The competition is pretty fierce with everyone gearing up for the NCAA Championships. The conditions were less than ideal, but we are optimistic for tomorrow.

At 6:45 a.m. (today) I'm going to hand out doughnuts to the students. I want everybody to feel a part of this. It's not a PR stunt; it's just who I am. I really appreciate all the support we've gotten this year.

We don't want to pack our uniforms up for the year at 9:30 (tonight). Might that happen? Sure. I know all you guys think that, and everybody in the country thinks that. But when you're dealing with one game, anything can happen.

I don't think our staff or our players would have any problem if we had to face them in the conference tournament. They're a well-coached team and they're a good, solid team, but we won the regular season in this league so we're ready to play anybody that's put in front of us.

Several people have told me this is the biggest on-campus sporting event in the history of the Capital District. It's the biggest game, obviously, that we've ever played in the history of the men's basketball program here.
