process proper realize subjective worse
I think we all realize that the more subjective the process is, the worse things are for everybody. I think it would be proper to come up with something more definitive.
certainly good knew
I've said many times that I knew Herschel was going to be good, but I never thought he would be that good that fast. But I was certainly going to give him the opportunity.
books change effort order rule teams wants
The SEC made the effort to get to 12 teams in order to have a championship game. If the ACC wants to do the same thing, why should we change a rule just for them when it's been on the books for a long, long time?
remember
I don't remember doing it. So I did, eh?
defend game passing trying
The passing game is more sophisticated now, but we are also more sophisticated in trying to defend it.
advantage agree chance decision enjoyed few full interests involved places president situation speaking stay though various whatever
I wanted to stay on for a few more years for various reasons, but the president had the right to make that decision, though I didn't agree with it. Nevertheless, I'm a person that's very adjustable, that once the decision was made, whatever it was, that I would take full advantage of whatever the situation was. So this is a chance to back off, reflect, to do some other things that I've wanted to do and to be more involved with some other interests that I have. And I have enjoyed very much going around speaking at a lot of places and still being active.
car run satisfied totally
Take it from me, Vince Dooley, you'll be totally satisfied and your car will look and run like a winner.
busy except excuses far staff
It really hasn't been much different except I haven't had any staff meetings, and I haven't had to make any decisions. But as far as everything else is concerned, I've been just as busy as I've ever been. I've probably done as many things as I've ever done, if not more, because I don't have enough excuses to say no.
coaches whom
So when you get about 20 coaches most of whom have done very well together, it is like a reunion.
answers care coach difficult establish feeling florida follow indication leave needs question wants
I think that his feeling is that he needs to establish himself. I think it would be very difficult for him to follow coach Bowden right away. I think it's his indication that he wants to stay. He doesn't care what the buyout (clause in his contract) is because he wants to stay. So that answers the question if he wants to leave and go back to Florida State, and I don't think he does.
both coach decision ease gonna keeping ought personal three whoever winner wins
I think what is keeping both of them going is the record, ... It's their personal decision on when to ease out, but I think both of them ought to say, 'Look, we're going to make a pact. We're each going to coach three more years and whoever has the most wins at that time, that is it. That will be the winner of the all-time record.' Otherwise, they're gonna just keep coaching.
addition both contract given good opening people puts rest stay terrific wants
He was given the addition on his contract as well as a terrific increase, which is a good thing for both him and Georgia, because I think it puts people at rest that when this opening comes up in Tallahassee, that he wants to stay at Georgia, and that's what he wants to do.
ability delight great might special steve stick took
Steve had a great ability to stick it to somebody, and he took a special delight in doing it to Ray. And their personalities are different, which might be a part of it.
athletics best confident five four great knew pressure steve stop tail tremendous
Stanfill put him on his tail four or five times, ... Steve was a great athlete, confident and cocky, but we put tremendous pressure on him. That was the best way I knew to stop the quarterback.
