It's really been a process with Kyle. Each year he's matured and taken another step. This was the first year he really had that solid impact at the state tournament. He was a leader on this team this year.

Our defense played well. It was difficult for us offensively, but we were able to do some things on defense to make up for that.

Brett is just a guy that gives you everything he has. He throws his body around for loose balls. He hustles all the time. He does what ever we need to win.

The thing about Kyle is that you can't say he hasn't only looked for himself. He's done a great job of getting other people involved. We've done this as a team.

I feel pretty good. Any time you win a game shooting 39 percent you should feel pretty good, but they played their hearts out tonight.

This sets a nice rhythm for us. We feel good about executing our game, but we know the next team is a different story. They do things a little bit differently. What this does is it maintains the confidence level we came in here with.

Neither team was really controlling the tempo. I think I was getting sleepy on the sideline watching a lot of this game. Our guys were just really tentative.

It really boiled down to us turning the ball over in some clutch situations. We had a six point lead, with the ball, with just over a minute to play. We just didn't cap it off like we needed to.

We felt like Kyle should be able to beat any one guy out there. He was our go-to-guy scoring-wise.

Our kids needed to win on the first day. It's been three years since we were able to win that first game. I think this is just our maturity showing up. We have a lot of seniors here playing in their final games and that showed.
focus game stay struggled winning
Our whole focus is just winning that first game. We've struggled in the first game lately. We need that first one to stay in the winner's bracket.

For three quarters we did a lot of great things. Sometimes you win the game early. I think that's what we did.
