It's a nice solid group of kids. It's been going on longer than 7th and 8th grade. They've been together going to tournaments for years and they're reaping the rewards now. They play very well together. Coach Spencer works very hard. He relates very well with the kids in his first year coaching. He works hard with them and gets them going in the right direction.

It was a big momentum change. We felt comfortable playing for the last shot, with our big kid (6-7 Justin Francis) in foul trouble. But we allowed them to get momentum and it took the air out of us.

That hurt us tonight. Not cashing in on those freebies.
groups high maintain middle people remember school skills time
A lot of groups come through middle school with high expectations. They'll have to maintain their skills and get better at the same time. People will be gunning for them each time out so they have to come to play. People remember middle school (success) so you have to keep getting better and I think they will.

That was a big momentum change. Unfortunately we turned it over, they banked in a 3 and took the air out of us.

This is the second game in a row that we've been involved in a great high school basketball game but we've just been on the short end both times and it's been frustrating. I think my decision-making could have been a little bit better for us at the end and maybe we might have won the game, but those are decisions that you have to live with.
On down the line, it could be very valuable.

Our kids assigned to stop him got in foul trouble. We tried to get physical with him, but (the officials) weren't allowing that.

I think they wanted to hold on to the ball, and once we got our lead, they couldn't do that.

He was still able to average a double-double with everything defenses tried to do.

His hard work was outstanding. Practice or game he came and worked hard.
challenge coaches difficult guy
At times it was a little difficult because we didn't always know which guy to go to at what time. We had so many that could do so many things but that's a challenge coaches like to have.
