I've watched these young coaches come in here and it got me excited again. They remind me of how I used to feel. Maybe these past two years away from coaching is what I needed. I feel energized again.

Well, they beat us last year when we were ranked No. 1 in the state. If they hadn't beaten us, we would have finished No. 1, so the kids were up for it.

That was our theme all along survive and advance. We pretty much had our backs to the wall the last two weeks. We just managed to find a way to win.

We jumped on them early, got a little complacent and they started to get back in it on us. But we got the job done in the end.

We'll be OK. We just have to keep an eye on pitch-counts and watch the kids out there, but we'll be all right.

Now that the restoration project is completed and the new plantings have begun to take hold, the restoration will look as natural as other parts of our park that have been so wonderfully preserved.

We had three good pitchers last year, and we're in the same spot this year. They have big plans, and they're all good pitchers. It just depends on whose turn it is on any given day - that's who's going to get the ball.

It's up in the air. I've prayed about it a lot and I'm just following my heart. I'm going to look at what's out there. It's just time for me to do this.

It's going to be a test to see how good we really are. It's a big week.
