far laps last led list race win
As far as the to-do list is concerned, it's the No. 1 thing. The last two years, I've led enough laps to win the whole race outright.
extremely fun laps loose neither racing
It was fun racing like that. Obviously, if there had been 80 laps to go, neither one of us would have been racing each other that way. Definitely, he was better. We weren't. We were extremely loose there at the end.
fun hard knowing laps neither race racing
It was fun racing like that. If there'd been 80 laps to go, neither one of us would have raced each other that hard. But with 30 laps to go, you're going to race each other that hard for sure, knowing you're getting down to the end.
fun laps neither obviously racing
It was fun racing him like that. Obviously if it had been 80 laps to go, neither of us would have raced each other that hard. ...Definitely, he was better.
finished gone laps matt reason saying turn
Matt is always saying that. He has not reason to complain. He started the whole thing by squeezing me in Turn 2 with just 20 laps gone in a 200 -lap race. I just finished it.
exciting final five incident isolated laps last year
I'd say this one was more exciting. Last year it was an isolated incident that made that one. Being three-wide, three-deep in the final five laps is, I think, a pretty exciting finish.
chicago convinced john laying man thoroughly
I'm thoroughly convinced that the man laying on the slab in the Chicago morgue was John Dillinger.
knew position quicker spin turn
I knew we were a little quicker than him. There was no way he was going to give it away, so we were going to have to take it away. We didn't turn him around. We didn't spin him out. We just got the position that we were after.
chess fifth leading matter next race timing
It's such a chess match. You can be leading the race one second, and you can be fifth the next second. I think it's just a matter of timing and getting yourself in the right place at the right time.
anybody beat best car drove everybody gordon jeff knows lap ought positive run
Everybody knows who had the best car here today, ... There wasn't anybody who was going to beat us. Jeff Gordon got the trophy, but he wasn't going to beat us. We had the best car. All you have to do is get the lap times. They could run with us for 15 or 18 laps, but we always drove away. That's the positive thing that we ought to take away from today.
chase dictate nights
It was just one of those screwed-up nights that's probably going to dictate the way the Chase comes out,
given win won
They've never given up on me, ... We didn't want to win it like we did in 2002. We won it right this time.
change checkered control dropped emotions flag last points
Once they dropped the checkered flag last week, the points were what they are. There was nothing we could do to change that. All we could do was control the emotions we had about it.
chase dying fences five minutes tired
I'm dying right now, ... Too tired to chase fences right now. Give me five minutes and I'll be ready.
