best care chance fresh great guy pushing side
We have one of the game's best closers but he was fresh and we didn't feel like we were pushing him at all. I don't care how great Izzy is, if I'm on the other side they may think they've got a better chance when the other guy comes out, because Carpenter's just dealing.
game push quite
You can do anything you want with him. You can hit-and-run with him, bunt. We push the game with him quite a bit.
bad innings last nine pushing time
Every time we play him in the last two-three innings of a game, we're pushing him. It wouldn't be a bad idea for him not to play nine too often.
avoid bad concerned front half kept lose pushing second starting stretch though
We've been really concerned the whole second half that a stretch of bad play was right in front of us and I think that's kept us pushing and we've been able to avoid it. I don't want to lose that concern even though we're starting to get healthy.
against care command edge guy pushes regular roger season starts umpire whoever
When you go against a guy like Greg Maddux or a Roger Clemens, I don't care if it's a regular season game, is a guy with that kind of command and if he starts getting an edge he pushes and pushes it so it's up to whoever the umpire is,
areas decided push sore
He's got some sore areas and we decided not to push him,
bats both guys handle job larry pitching push terrific took
Guys took their place and did a terrific job with the bats and we were pitching well. We don't have Scott back, but we have Larry and Reggie back. Both of those guys can handle a bat, so you don't push as much with them as you would with some of the other guys.
gets needs push sore
He's sore, got some sore areas. The idea is not to push him. We'll see how he feels. If he needs (rest), he gets it.
hoping slips sure
We're going to talk, and we're going to make sure that nothing slips through the cracks. Scott is really important, and we're hoping that what he's done is not too much too soon. That's why it's important we talk.
game pitching
We're going to go game-to-game, series-to-series. We'll see if we think our pitching is vulnerable.
care finish great line mostly october ready rotation soon start trying turns
We're mostly try to get to the finish line first, as soon as possible, then if we can do that, we're going to try to get to October as ready as we can. We're not trying to make a start for Anthony Reyes. We're trying to take care of those two priorities. If it turns out that we want to lengthen out the rotation for some reason, Anthony's a great guy.
correction hal needs sees
We have to get (Juan) going. I think (hitting coach) Hal (McRae) sees the correction that he needs to make.
last player plenty position sure three weeks
We know him and technically a position player can get here the last two or three weeks and that's plenty of camp. I'm sure he's been working.
five four locate roy seen
We've seen Roy four or five times this year. They've seen Mulder four times. It's not really going to be stuff, it's going to be command; you know, do you locate your pitches?
