You've got to have a mind-set to play your own game, almost like you're behind. Guys out here are pretty good. Someone can come from four or five behind pretty easily.

I wasn't overly nervous on the last putt, which is kind of a first for me. There were times in the past when my heart has been beating out of my chest. I just had two thoughts stay still, and make sure the putter goes through the ball. I thought I left it short, but it got to the cup on my last roll.

That means a lot to lead wire-to-wire, which I've never done before. There's a special satisfaction in the heat of battle when guys are coming after you and you still hit good shots.

I tried to stay positive and tried not to think about what happened here the last two years. All I wanted to do was play good golf. If someone had a great round and beat me, that's OK. I just didn't want to beat myself like I did the last two years.

Someone dropped a bottle as I was ready to hit on No. 8 so I backed off the ball. I stepped back in, tried to be positive, hit it, and it came off the club just the way I wanted it to. But I'm as surprised as anybody it went in. You don't ever expect a tee shot to disappear into the hole.

I really haven't hit it too good lately, but today I had more chances to make birdies and I drove it better. It was a much better round than I have had the past few weeks. I'm encouraged.
