came coming definitely force good happy played second win
It was a good effort. I was really happy with how he came back after being down 4-1 in the second set, coming back to force a tie-breaker. He definitely played well enough to win it.
dominated felt good played sets win year
That is there first win of the year -- they were excited. They felt good and they played pretty well and dominated the two sets they won.
couple quite switch
They were up 5-4 and 40-30, but they didn't get it. I probably will switch them up, too. They've had a couple chances, but couldn't quite do it.
condition dominated four good matches played shows third three won
We won four three-set matches and three of them were 6-1 and one was 6-2, so they pretty much dominated the third sets. That shows they are in good condition and played with some confidence.
credit great improved improvement job lost playing summer until
I give (Forest Grove) credit -- they are improved and they have done a great job with their summer program. We've never lost to them until (Thursday) and they showed improvement and how important playing in the summer is. I thought we would be a little more competitive.
close lost played points seemed shocked six three win
As I watched, it seemed like we were close in the matches, yet all lost 6-0, 6-0. They don't know how how to win two or three points in a row. All six of them have never played before, but I was shocked they all lost 0 and 0.
decide score until work
It shouldn't have had to come down to a (scoring) run. We're not a team, and that's why we can't score points. They don't work as a team. Until they decide they want to play as a unit...
guys played relaxed scared team
They tightened up and they choked. The other team played pretty relaxed and our guys were scared of losing.
bottom doubles losing teams three
We competed well in singles, but our bottom three doubles teams are all new players. We're losing on inexperience.
beat came great himself hung shot
He was down in each set and came back to win. (Wallace) was tough, but Velarde hung in there. The thing about Velarde is he doesn't beat himself and if you don't beat yourself, you've got a great shot to win.
came close closing coming earlier good job learning lost matches third trouble week year
He was down 5-2 in the third set and came back and won. He really did a good job coming back. He's had trouble closing matches this year. He was up 5-1 in the third set earlier in the year and lost and he was up earlier this week and lost in the third set. I think he's learning how to close matches now -- hopefully.
close instead score thinking third tight
He was up 4-1 in the third set, but he got tentative and didn't finish. He didn't close out and got tight and started thinking about the score instead of the moment.
best consistency league playing record trying wins within year
He has our best record in league this year and he's playing within himself. He's not trying to over-hit and he's being consistent. At this level, consistency wins matches. He's just playing better tennis.
ability kids learn win
We have to learn how to win -- the kids have the ability to win, but they have to get competitive and then win. Right now, we're not even competitive.
