contracts figure focus hard level opportunity playing record stuck time week
It's not a hard thing to figure out. This (schedule) is something that we got stuck with because of contracts that were done a long time ago. Right now, it's important for us not to focus on what the record is, but to focus on how we can get better each week so that when we have an opportunity on a level playing field, we can come out on top.
coming learning level outside starter
He's only been a starter at this level for (six games) and he's going to go through some learning experiences in the coming weeks. Outside of the two interceptions, I thought he had an outstanding game.
start
It was an electrifying start but I didn't have any follow-up.
front passing punish
We wanted to keep everything in front of us in the passing game, which we did, and punish the receivers.
hip los tie west
I still have reservations about West Los Angeles, ... I keep saying, don't tie us to the hip with West Los Angeles. Give us an out.
I think he's back to normal, I really do,
looking overall realistic
You keep looking at the overall record, but let's be realistic about it,
asked extended game good half lost might period second smart temptation
On Saturday, he wanted to go back into the game, because that's just how he is. But we had to be smart about it. The (injury) tightened up on him as the game went on. We asked him as we went into the second half if it was tightening up, and it was. Had it not been, there might have been a temptation to put him back into the game. As it is now, it's good we didn't, because we could have lost him for an extended period of time.
advance came diego games learned locked longer realized san took
So I think we've learned our lesson. Unfortunately, here at San Diego State, it took us longer than that because we overscheduled, and we've locked into these games years in advance where we couldn't get out of them. That's what I realized when I came here, is that we couldn't get out of them. And now we've got to live with the results. And it hasn't been fair.
buy worry
We've got to worry about ourselves, not our opponents. I don't buy into that letdown thing.
eight happen nine plays running saturday
We had about eight or nine (deep) plays called Saturday and Kevin's running for his life, ... That's going to happen sometimes.
arizona colorado develop michigan ohio realistic second state
Then you had Colorado in there, Arizona State, Michigan and now Ohio State for the second time. That's not a realistic way to re-establish and develop your program.
elusive kept ohio physically smith
Ohio State's quarterback kept things alive. Troy Smith was elusive and physically strong.
start
It (Swain's touchdown) was a pretty electrifying start that didn't have any follow-up.
