felt pitches
Of the 20-something pitches I threw, I think only two weren't strikes. So I felt pretty good. I was very happy. Not once did I feel anything that made me think about it.
devil finished pitch thinking
I thought I was finished then. I was thinking if I can't make the Devil Rays, can I pitch anymore? Is this it, is this how I go out? It was embarrassing not to be able to make that team.
good guys missed pitch soon today
I wanted to pitch good today and show them that I'm here for the duration. It was important for me to get back with the guys as soon as I could because I missed 'em.
admirable aspect collect competitor contract expect gotten guys history hurt knowing pitch recent seen
I think it's admirable what he did, because there have been some guys in recent history that have gotten their contract and gotten hurt and went home, never to be seen again. Knowing Troy, he was going to have to (try) because he was professional in every aspect of the game, so you didn't expect him to just not show up and collect his checks. He was going to try and pitch because he's a competitor first and foremost.
advantage again best boston feels good learned pitches team year
I don't know if I can have this kind of year again so I want to try and take advantage of it as best I can and just make pitches and try to get outs. I was with Boston in 2003 and I wasn't an important part of the team and that kind of hurt. But I learned a lot from that and it feels good to be part of the team this year.
signs target time
The signs are there that they can do it. It's going to take a long time for them to get to that Target level.
retailers specialty teen
The teen retailers and some of the specialty retailers were the clear-cut winners.
bad direction everybody good inner loved pulling struggles team tear
I've been on good teams, I've been on bad teams, every good team I've ever been on we loved each other. You need everybody pulling in the right direction because there's just too much that can tear a team apart. You don't need inner struggles to do that.
goes great
Dontrelle pitched great and he got the loss. It's not very fair. That's the way it goes though.
handing marlin somebody stupid
You feel kind of stupid actually handing out Marlin T-shirts to somebody like that.
again bullets consider dodging great hitter knew luck maybe tomorrow totally
Totally luck, totally luck. Lance Berkman is a great hitter and he knew what I was going to throw. I get it in maybe just a hair, just enough. I don't want to have to do that again tomorrow because he's a great hitter and I consider it dodging bullets when I do that. Seriously.
elite percent problem saves
The problem is, when you think about it, saves are the only stat where 100 percent is the benchmark. And the elite make it look so easy. There is so much to it.
continue drive people performance skeptical
I have been and continue to be skeptical that they have the right people in place to drive performance there.
best buy spend worth
If I'm going to spend $3,000 at Best Buy or I'm going to spend $2,500 at Wal-Mart, that $500 is worth it for the better service.
