What we wanted to do with our defensemen recruits was add some size and reach to protect the front of our net. And we also wanted to add some offensive punch. All three defensemen are offensive-minded. One of the reasons we were average offensively last year was because we were seventh in the league in offensive production from our defensemen.

To stay in the East is a big bonus. Now we have a lot of friends and family that will come to the game and support us. That is one of the big reasons why we do so well.

I honestly think we would've tied it up. We had so much momentum, so much jump at that point. That is one of the reasons it's such an exciting game. Momentum can swing so dramatically at a moments notice.

We have to continue to improve all aspects of our game. One of the keys is to get in game shape. We had a long layoff. Conditioning is very important. It's our number one priority.

Each year, leaders emerge for the team, and Derek certainly emerged for us in a lot of different leadership areas. He continues to assert himself in a very positive way for his team. He has a lot of great things ahead of him in the future.

Each time we've been down, we've been able to fight through. The most enjoyable part this year is we've been through some adverse situations, whether it's injuries or or off ice scenarios, we've all stuck together as team and found a way to bounce back and play well.

Every time we scored, they bounced right back. The momentum shifted to us in the third period, but the game could have gone either way. We're just fortunate we got the last swing of momentum.

We had lots of chances and eventually the dam broke and we ended up with a real good comeback win. We talked about not getting frustrated if didn't come easy. We didn't get off track. We stuck to the game plan.

We've met a lot. It's a very good rivalry and I'm sure it's going to be a great game. (We've played well this year) But they had our number last year. This next meeting is the most important of all.

We've lost our share of games already so we didn't have a lot of room to play with. Obviously we needed to leave it all out on the ice regardless of the results. And I think for the most part we did that and that is why I am happy.

That was a very hard fought series a lot of respect for how they played. They left it all out on the ice, and fortunately so did we. We found a way to be one goal better each night. It was a fine line, but we got it done.
