blunders couple girls hits step thinking timely
(Atchison) made a couple of blunders on the infield and we just got some timely hits from freshmen. I think the other girls were thinking if they can do it, it's time for me to step up. That helps.

The first couple innings, we just couldn't get those timely hits. The pitching was there though.

We just started slow. We didn't take it to them early like we did in the first game.

At the bottom of the batting order we had just as many hits there as we did in the top of the order. So that's a delight to have that happen. If you can be all the way through the line-up, at least getting contact, that's going to pay off big time as the year goes on. Everyone is going to get more sure of themselves. If you get seven and nine hitting that makes it awful tough. We had some good pokes today.

One inning she walked a couple batters and loaded the bases with one out. Then she struck out the next two. She was really it today.

Dana just didn't get off to a good start. It was their night to find the holes and we couldn't.

When we get some people on there we've got to (stay aggressive). Because if we don't, we get a little stale. We got up six and then the next two innings, three up, three down. I just keep telling them, contact, contact, contact, see how things go from there.

They're a good team. We would've liked to have taken one from them.

That one was clear over the scoreboard. It was still going the last time I saw it.

(Lang) had them at bay. Then they had two hits and scored them.

I kept telling her to keep it low. She's got kind of a natural rise, so I was just trying to get her to keep it low. She did. She knew what she was doing, she's pitched enough games so she knows what her limits are and what she can do and what she can't do.
