bad morning
It didn't feel that bad this morning and I thought that it would be okay,
believe hardly slow won
I can hardly believe that I won this match. I was too slow in the first set but now it's like I'm back at my best.
believe hardly won
I can hardly believe that I won this match.
felt medical sad sat special
But after I sat down (for the medical time-out), I really felt it and just couldn't go on. I'm sad that I couldn't play. Unfortunately, if it's your Achilles, you feel it all the time; it's not a special movement.
game pleased serve today tournament
I was pleased with my serve today and I think it will be a big part of my game as the tournament continues.
ball consistent focused front happy harder hit home nice playing second stared stay support work worked
She stared playing well in the second set and I had to work harder to stay focused and concentrated. I am very happy with this win. I feel like I hit the ball well, but I wasn't very consistent in the second set. I've worked hard and I've done a lot of preparation for the event. It's so nice to play in front of a home crowd. The support really helps.
ball early fighting kept mentally shots surprised taking tough
She surprised me the way she played, taking the ball early and really going for her shots in the first set. But then, I think mentally I was really tough out there and I kept fighting all through the end, and that's kind of what got me through it.
beginning expecting lost match player tough year
She's the player that I lost to at the beginning of the year in Australia, so I was expecting a tough match, and it really was a tough match in the first set,
happy
She said, 'Do you want to play?' and I said 'Of course. Who doesn't want to play with Martina? I just feel very lucky. We're all very happy to have her back.
absolutely aggressive course decisive kim playing points solid
Of course I am disappointed, I was so close. Kim was absolutely solid at decisive points and was playing very aggressive throughout.
happy hard hits player tough
Because she hits really hard and she doesn't make mistakes, she's a very tough player to beat, so I was happy with my performance.
break gives good screaming umpires
I think it's actually good because I think it gives a little break to the umpires because you're not like screaming at them, and it makes you feel better, too.
advantage angles arms ball body chances few game hit pick ready tired tried
I was kind of ready for how she plays. I could pick up a few things about her game and just had to take more advantage of the chances that I had, but I got tired and made some unforced errors. I tried not to give her too many angles but she can get to every ball with her long arms and legs. I tried to hit to her body and keep it deep.
game tennis tried
I just tried to play my own game and she started to make unforced errors. That's the way tennis goes.
