good softball team ucla win
I know it's good for softball to see a team other than UCLA win the championship,
softball winning games
What I love about the game is that the game doesn't know who is supposed to win.
critical
I know they don't get the attention, but they're critical to our team.
covered experience field half kids
The field is different at dusk. Over half of it is covered in shade. The kids need to get some experience out there.
proud
I'm really proud of how she regained her composure. That's part of the game. Nothing's automatic.
built confidence knew played proud softball year
I'm so proud of this team. They knew there was still a lot of softball to be played and they've been through so much this year and built confidence in themselves.
advantage count entire explain plan simple staying team themselves trusting whether within
It's very simple to explain the payoff. This team is trusting their plan through entire games. They're staying within themselves whether they have the advantage in the count or not.
areas teams
It's important that teams from other areas are competitive.
ask close fighting fights-and-fighting keeps team
We've been so close all year. This team keeps fighting every inning. I couldn't ask for more.
ashley expect momentum normally spot teams
What Ashley did wasn't only a momentum changer. It was more than that, considering what teams normally expect out of that spot in the order.
best games matter
I couldn't say enough about her. Dodd's at her best at end of the year, when the games matter the most.
best games matter
I couldn't say enough about her, ... Dodd's at her best at end of the year, when the games matter the most.
against backs certainly game hopeful losing plays road team wall
Losing our first game certainly isn't the road we want to go down. I'm hopeful my team comes out and plays like the way it did when our backs were against the wall so our backs don't have to be against the wall.
came earned fall great herself improved physical position solid stronger transition
She's made a solid transition into this fall and was really impressive. She had a lot of opportunities to play in the fall, rotate in and really came through. She's earned herself a position and even if she doesn't get in every game, she's become one of our most improved players. Mechanically she's doing such great things, it makes us stronger - just to be so physical and be able to execute.
