The effort was there. It was the little things here and there that made us a loser. We are not going to get discouraged. I knew coming into the season that there was a good chance we were not going to win them all.
The fun thing about here, ... is that no one says, 'That doesn't work in the NFL.' I haven't heard that here.
The first few years, throwing was very easy. The defenses weren't geared up for it. Then later the defenses got a lot better toward stooping the pass.
The first key is pass protection -- giving the quarterback enough time. After that, it's getting guys open. The QB has to know where the receivers are going, how the defenses cover them. You need a smart guy who will make smart decisions 95 percent of the time.
A guy said, 'Coach, you know (the letters) USC is in Citrus now also,
And my dad wasn't a workout guy, ... I work out for 45 minutes, usually five, six times a week.
And if you're not in charge of the guys, they (the players) don't listen to you. If you can't cut 'em and get rid of 'em, then they're never gonna' listen to you. It's as simple as that.
You check my track record what we did with guys who got in serious trouble and embarrassed our university.
You can only play so much golf and lay around the beach,
Their athletes look faster, quicker than in the past, ... Certainly, (they're) a well-coached bunch of guys and they all play hard. You don't see guys loafing around and dodging tackles. They play all out. We've got to play our best to beat these guys this week.
I do apologize to our fans. I thought we'd be more competitive than we were today.
He can break on the ball about as well as any player I have seen. He's quiet, very serious and he loves to compete. Ko is a player we need more of here.
